Reflections on the Fourth

I make it a personal rule to never discuss politics or religion. No matter what you say, someone is going to get pissed off and things always end up becoming too heated for my liking. Everyone has an opinion and they love to voice it whether you want to hear it or not. Rarely am I happy with what goes on in this country and most of the time I don’t like the way things are handled. I’m in no way a political junkie but I do keep myself informed as to what is going on, especially since my boss is in politics. I end up getting an ear full regardless, so I always try to see things from both sides of the fence. With all of that being said, there is no where else I would rather be and I am thankful to have been born on American soil. I am reminded of that every morning while listening to the world news report.

So today I will go about my usual Sunday doings. There will be no fireworks, no picnics, no parades of any sort. I will however keep in the forefront of my mind, as I try to do everyday, as to how grateful I am for the freedom I have. I am thankful for the plentiful food that I grow and the land I am on. I have no one telling me what I can and can not do, within reason of course. So thank you Uncle Sam and all the forefathers of America for allowing me to live the life I love!
