Dreaming is wishful thinking because this was an absolute nightmare! Let me take you back a few minutes. I woke up this morning refreshed and ready to start my 4 day work week. I had off yesterday because I was supposed to be in Boston for Saturday’s Flogging Molly show at HoB. Turns out I ended up catching last Tuesday’s show in Baltimore (which by the way was re-freakin-diculous) since life threw me a curve ball and I had to schedule my move during my mini music vacation.
Downstairs into the kitchen I went to pour my morning cuppa Joe only to find red liquid slowly talking over my tiled floor. Oh My God!!! At first I thought my cat knocked over a bottle of red wine. Then I thought out loud, “No, that’s not it because my wine is at the other end of the room.” I just stood there staring at the floor and then it hit me. My freezer was bleeding. I gasped as I realized what was happening. Slowly I opened the door bringing to life my worst fear. There it was, over 200 lbs of last years blood, sweat and gardening tears defrosting in my not so cold freezer. I wanted to vomit and then cry. Truth be told, I almost did.
My new home has a surplus of electrical outlets, of which several of them are switch operated. Only being in the house a few days I still have no idea what works what. I just walk around absent-minded flipping switches until a light turns on. Apparently, I’m assuming, when I flipped a switch, I turned OFF the freezer. I did not have time to test out my hypothesis this morning since I had to rush off to work after cleaning up my kitchen and freezer. I’ll have to play detective later tonight. Regardless this situation SUCKS!
Oh and the red liquid in case you’re wondering, a mix of strawberry and beet juices. 😦
